Richardson, a global sales training company, has an excellent opportunity available for a Product Development Manager. This position is responsible for developing new sales training content and products and enhancing existing content and products.  Position reports to the SVP of Product Management.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creates/designs/develops/co-develops product enhancements and new sales training classroom and online content solutions following corporate Product Development Plan process.
  • Applies leading instructional design concepts and strategies to content and product creation and enhancements.
  • Interfaces with marketing department, design, service, sales and other sources to define or update user needs. Propose, create, verify and validate enhancements or new solutions based on design inputs; ensure outputs satisfy user needs. Evaluate and select optimum design alternatives based on Product Steering Group input and prioritization.
  • Participates in product steering group and quarterly product reviews.  Responsible for product road maps.
  • Writes and implements product content, gathers and analyzes content data, collects and properly documents content.
  • Writes specifications for products and consult with cross functional groups where applicable.
  • Creates project schedule and manages project budget in collaboration with SVP of Product.  Interfaces with different departments as needed to complete tasks required for developing product enhancements or new solutions. 
  • Follows content development best practices and design, and helps ensure development compliance in coordination with Product Steering Group. 
  • Documents new concepts and designs for intellectual property filing.  
  • Performs new product and enhancement training to sales team and becomes the subject matter expert for the core products that he/she enhances and builds.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Instructional Design or similar with an emphasis on curriculum writing and adult learning.
  • Minimum of four (4) years sales training writing experience.
  • Six (6) years instructional design experience is a plus.
  • Established background in the application of Learning Content Management Systems and current training modalities required.
  • Well-developed research skills.
  • Computer savvy, to include MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and oral skills, to include a written sample with your application.
  • Customer oriented, with a service delivery focus.
  • Platform skills a must.
  • Experience in training curriculum design is required.
